Our Story

The Venezuelan Association in Missouri (AVMO) was established on May 4, 2001 by group of Venezuelan nationals who came to Missouri, USA to start begin a new chapter in their lives. The idea was introduced by the first president of the society, Francyne Pereira.  Carlos Alarcon then registered the organization within Missouri, and soon the board of directors were added.  The original board of directors included: Octavio Pino (VP), Juan Carlos Luna (Treasurer), Arianny Bergolla (Secretary), and Alex Pereira (Director).

Each year since then we have been able to help countless members our community with service projects, food drives, clothing drives and much more. We have also awarded dozens of educational scholarships to students furthering their education. Each year we have arranged for donation boxes each year to be sent to Venezuela. To help those in need with household items, personal items, health related items, and even gifts for the children during Christmas time.

Since 2001, our AVMO family has grown immensely but our mission remains the same. To help our community and spread the Venezuelan culture to as many as we can. Thank you to all of our donors, sponsors, members, volunteers, and supporters. Without you, none of this would be possible. We are looking forward to the amazing things we have planned for the year ahead.
